A new school record and several top-10 program performances paced the Grinnell College women's track and field team at the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic over the weekend in Florida.
Jordan Young '14 (pictured) shattered the school record in the hammer throw with a toss of 125-11. That beat the previous Pioneer best of 118-0, set by Caitlin Shannon in 2006.
But Young wasn't the only one to top the record.

Christine Ajinjeru '14 ran the 400-meter dash in 58.76 to move up to second all-time in school history while finishing second in the event, while
Emily Clennon '14 and Ajinjeru moved to fourth and fifth, respectively, on the 200 chart with times of 26.71 and 26.72.
Clennon ran the 100 in 13.01, which ranks seventh all-time at Grinnell.
The 4x400 relay team of Ajinjeru, Clennon,
Sarah Jensen '15 and
Ellen Pinnette '15 ran 4:07.10, which is sixth-best in program history. They were third in the event.
Sachi Graber '12 and
Elsa Goldman '15 each went 9-6 ¼ in the pole vault, both efforts that rank sixth all-time. Graber finished third in the event and Goldman fifth.
