DE PERE, Wis. – The Grinnell College track and field teams head to Wisconsin as they prepare to compete in the 2012 Midwest Conference Championships hosted by St. Norbert College Friday and Saturday.
Grinnell's
Sarah Burnell '14 is ranked first in the women's 1500-meter run and second in the 800. Also ranked second are
Christine Ajinjeru '14 in the 400 and the 4x400 relay team.
Sachi Graber '12 and
Elsa Goldman '15 are ranked third in the pole vault,
Isabelle Miller '13 and
Jordan Young '14 are fourth in the 400 hurdles and javelin, respectively, and
Eloise Miller '15 is fifth in the triple jump.
Megan Huey '12 is ranked sixth in the shot put and the 4x100 relay team is also sixth, while those ranked seventh are
Alison Bayly '15 in the 10,000,
Diana Seer '15 in the 3000 steeplechase and
Athena Carlson '15 in the pole vault. Ranked eighth are
Emily Clennon '14 in the 100,
Hannah Colter '12 in the 5000,
Jacqui Vautin '13 in the 10,000, and Huey in the javelin.
On the men's side, Grinnell's highest-ranked performer is
Frank Canady '14 in the 5000. He is second, while teammate
Ben Tyler '14 is ranked third. Canady is third in the 10,000, while those ranked fourth are
Sam Krauth '14 in the 1500,
Eric Ragan '12 in the 400 hurdles,
Gavin Warnock '14 in the long jump and triple jump and the 4x400 relay team.
Jake Lindstrom '14 is fifth in the pole vault, the 4x100 team is sixth and
Harpreet Singh '12 is seventh in the 400 hurdles. Those ranked eighth are
Kyle Moorehead '15 in the 3000 steeplechase and
Gus Fulgoni '15 in the high jump.
Monmouth College is the defending champion on both the men's and women's side.
