DE PERE, Wis. – A pair of third-place finishes and three athletes making or improving their standing on the school's all-time chart highlighted the Grinnell College men's track and field team at the Midwest Conference Championships Saturday.
Placing third for Grinnell at Schneider Stadium were
Kyle Moorehead '15 in the 800-meter run (1:55.84) and
Frank Canady '14 in the 5000 (15:30.88). Moorehead's time ranks ninth in Grinnell history.
Eric Ragan '12 was fourth in the 400 hurdles (55.72), while fifth went to
Gus Fulgoni '15 in the high jump (6-2 ¾) and the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams (43.88 and 3:26.19, respectively).
Ragan's time ranks ninth in program history and Fulgoni's leap is sixth. Members of the 4x100 team were
Dylan Boucher '12,
Harpreet Singh '12,
Gavin Warnock '14 and Fulgoni, while Fulgoni, Ragan,
Zachary Angel '15 and Moorehead ran the 4x400. Ragan had a personal-best split of 51.2 seconds.
Singh was seventh in the 400 hurdles in 59.10, while Angel was ninth in the 800 in 1:58.92 and Warnock placed 10th in the triple jump with an effort of 42-4 ¾.
Grinnell was fifth in the team standings with 52.5 points. The champion was defending title holder Monmouth College with 230 points.
