GRINNELL – Five first-year Grinnell College student-athletes have been honored with the G. Lester Duke '25 Freshman Athlete of the Year awards.

Elliott Czarnecki '15 (top left) and Luke Yeager '15 (top center) were named top male athletes representing an individual and team sport, respectively. Czarnecki is on the Pioneers' tennis team and Yeager is on the basketball squad.

Summer Wilke '15 (top right), Eden Marek '15 (lower left) and Eloise Miller '15 (lower right) were tabbed top female athletes. Wilke and Marek shared the award for a team sport, while Miller was honored for an individual sport. Wilke plays softball at Grinnell, Marek was on the soccer team and Miller participated in track and cross country.

The awards were given at the College's recent GOAL ceremony.
