NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Grinnell College men's cross country runner
Frank Canady '14 punched his ticket to the NCAA Division III National Championships with a stellar performance Saturday.
Canady captured 10th place in a 181-runner field at the Central Region Championships hosted by St. Olaf College. Canady toured the 8-kilometer course in 25:20.67.
It marks the third time Canady has earned All-Region honors.
Next in line for Grinnell was
Evan Griffith '15, who was 41st in 26:20.57. Rounding out the Pioneers' list of scorers were
Ben Tyler '14 (59th in 26:40.62),
Nate Kolacia '16 (61st in 26:42.77) and
Sam Krauth '14 (77th in 27:04.37).
Others in Grinnell's top seven were
Anthony McLean '17 (90th in 27:30.67) and
Zachary Angel '15 (112th in 27:56.72).
The individual champ was Central College's Eli Horton, who finished in 24:35.97.
Grinnell was 10th in the team standings with 248 points. The host school was the champ with 51 points.
The national meet is next Saturday at Hanover, Ind.
