NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Grinnell College women's cross country runners
Sarah Burnell '14 and
Diana Seer '15 both came up with big performances to earn NCAA Division III All-Central Region honors Saturday.
Burnell earned the honor for the second year in a row after placing 12th in a 186-runner field at the Regional Championships. She ran the 6-kilometer race in 22:35.94.
Burnell stands a good chance of earning a repeat trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships via an at-large bid. That will be determined Sunday.
Seer placed 23rd to collect All-Region honors for the first time in her career. She had a time of 23:14.14.
Their efforts helped Grinnell to a seventh-place finish in the 27-team field. The Pioneers' 216-point total was comfortably ahead of the 301 put up by Cornell College, a team Grinnell beat by a mere point at the Midwest Conference Championships two weeks ago.

Samantha Kubica '16 (60th in 23:55.69) and
