Eloise Miller '15 broke her own Grinnell College school record in the long jump at the Monmouth Fighting Scots Outdoor Invitational on Saturday.

Miller won the event with a leap of 17-9 ¼, topping her previous best of 17-8 ¼ set last season.

Grinnell's other win at the meet came from
Whitney Teagle '18 in the 3000-meter steeplechase. She had a time of 12:47.27, a clocking that ranks 10th in program history.

The Pioneers had two pole vaulters tie for second place with leaps of 9-2 ½, a height that ranks ninth in program history. Tying for second were
Samantha McConnell '17 and
Carolyn Peckham '17.

Shannon Young '17 was fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:22.93 and Miller placed seventh in the 400 in 59.85. Miller's time ranks fifth in program history.

Nora Bresette Buccino '16 was seventh in both the 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles in 17.02 and 1:14.57, respectively.
Sierra Silverwood '18 was 10th in both events.

Silverwood also took eighth in the high jump at 4-4 ¼.

Grinnell was fifth in the 4x100 relay with
Becca Carpenter '15, Bresette Buccino,
Sarah Jensen '15 and
Alex Schmiechen '17, and took eighth in the 4x400 relay with Schmiechen,
Zoe Schmiechen,
Emma Zimmerman '18 and
Ellen Pinnette '15.

Grinnell was sixth in the team standings with 49 points. Central College won with a score of 179.

The Pioneers will compete at the Midwest Conference Championships next weekend at Ripon College.
