NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The two Emmas produced a double-dose of good news for the Grinnell College women's cross country team in a loaded field at the Running of the Cows, hosted by Carleton College, on Saturday.

Emma Zimmerman '18 and
Emma Luhmann '18 each had top 16 finishes for the Pioneers, who were sixth in the 15-team meet with 156 points.

Zimmerman placed 13th in the 267-runner field, touring the 6-kilometer course in 23:43.3. Luhmann was three spots behind in 23:53.6.

Mikayla Fujiwara '20 also added to her already-successful first season by placing 36th in 24:30.1. That time ranks 44th in program history.

Tori LaVerdiere '20 jumped into Grinnell's top 50 with a time of 24:37.5, good for 41st place. That time ranks 46th in Pioneer history.

Also scoring for Grinnell was
Anna Ahrens '19, who was 50th in 24:49.1.
Whitney Teagle '18 and
Alosha Southern '17 were 70th and 77th, respectively, in 25:20.1 and 25:35.9.

The Pioneers compete in the Tori Neubauer Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, on Oct. 15.
