GRINNELL, Iowa – Four Grinnell College student-athletes were honored with the 2016 G. Lester Duke '25 First-Year Athlete of the Year Award at the annual GOAL ceremony Sunday in Darby Gymnasium.

Vrishali Sinha '19 and Emily Jordan '19 were named the top female athletes representing an individual and team sport, respectively. Sinha plays for the Pioneer golf team, while Jordan competes in softball.
 
Jose Coloma '19 and Ryan Slager '19 were tabbed top male athletes representing an individual and team sport. Coloma is on the tennis team and Slager the football squad.
 
Additionally, the Lyle F. Bauman Jr. Lifetime Dedication Award was given to Nancy Maly '61 during the ceremony.
 
Awards for senior athletes were also announced, but those will be formally presented at the Honor G Ceremony this Saturday.
