ETTRICK, Wis. – Grinnell College's women's cross country team had a strong performance at the loaded Tori Neubauer Invitational Saturday.

In a field that featured three nationally-ranked teams and 10 regionally-ranked squads, the Pioneers finished eighth in the 21-team field with 243 points. Grinnell, ranked eighth in the Central Region, defeated three other regionally-ranked teams in the process.

Emma Zimmerman '18 was 17th in the 298-runner field in 22:51.67 over the 6-kilometer course.
Mikayla Fujiwara '20 took 45th in 23:45.50 and
Emma Luhmann '18 placed 55th in 23:59.79.

Also scoring for Grinnell were
Tori LaVerdiere '20, who was 60th in 24:06.63, and
Anna Ahrens '19, who placed 66th in 24:13.57. Also for Grinnell,
Cara Keleher '21 was 72nd in 24:22.08 and
Ally Cottrell '21 took 75th in 24:27.21.

Nicole Arredondo '19 also jumped onto Grinnell's all-time best list with a time of 24:33.65, which ranks 49th in Pioneer history.

Iowa Central Community College won the team title with 53 points and also had the individual champion in Adva Cohen, who ran 21:23.74.

The Pioneers compete in the Midwest Conference Championships in two weeks.
