JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Grinnell College had seven runners claim All-Midwest Conference honors and two move up or onto the program's all-time best list at the MWC Cross Country Championships Saturday at The Links at Jacksonville Golf Course.

John Lennon '19 claimed All-MWC honors for the second time in his career, running the 8-kilometer course in 25:26.9 to place fourth. That time ranks 18th all-time at Grinnell.

Pieter Hansen '19 placed 14th in 26:09.3 and now is 49th all-time at Grinnell. Rounding out the list of scorers were
Jackson Schulte '20 (15th in 26:17.3),
Matt Lieberman '21 (16th in 26:20.9) and
Gray Krewson '19 (17th in 26:23.4).

Other All-MWC performers for the Pioneers were
Matthew Phipps '20, who was 18th in 26:24.2, and
Lucas Chamberland '21, who was 20th in 26:29.2.

Grinnell was second in the meet with 66 points. Cornell College won with 35.

The individual champ was Lawrence University's Josh Janusiak, who ran the race in 24:58.7.

Grinnell claimed two individual awards, as Lieberman was tabbed MWC Newcomer of the Year and
Alex Kleinjan '20 earned the Elite 20 Award.

The Pioneers will compete at the NCAA Division III Regional Championships Nov. 11 in Northfield, Minn.
