Grinnell women make a statement at Carleton meet

Results

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Emma Zimmerman '18 had a huge performance for the Grinnell College women's cross country team, placing seventh of 116 runners at the rugged Running of the Cows event Saturday.
 
She had a time of 23:00.9 as Grinnell finished fourth in the team standings with 128 points. Also scoring for Grinnell were Anna Ahrens '19 (27th in 23:57.2), Mikayla Fujiwara '20 (28th in 23:57.2), Cara Keleher '21 (37th in 24:09.7) and Emma Luhmann '18 (52nd in 24:37.1).
 
Also for Grinnell, Nicole Arredondo '19 was 54th in 24:41.0 and Tori LaVerdiere '20 placed 67th in 24:41.0.
 
Carleton College was the team champ with 28 points and had the individual winner in Meg Mathison, who ran 22:84.0.
 
In terms of the team standings, things boded well for the Pioneers as they finished ahead of MWC entries St. Norbert College and Cornell College.
 
The Pioneers compete at the Tori Neubauer Invitational in two weeks in La Crosse, Wis.
