Graham Fisher, a 6-4 right-hander from Palo Alto, Calif. (Gunn) has been named the Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week.

He dominated the mound against Cornell College Saturday, fanning seven batters in seven innings while scattering six hits in a 2-0 victory. His efforts helped Pioneer pitchers break the program record for strikeouts in a season with 245.

Saturday’s win was part of a sweep that gave Grinnell its sixth MWC South Division title in the last seven seasons and third in a row while extending its program record for wins in a season to 28.

Fisher also had a huge week for the Pioneers, hitting a sizzling .563 by going 9-of-16 at the plate with a 1.063 slugging percentage. He had two homers, two doubles, five RBIs and three runs while also fielding a perfect 1.000.
