Grinnell College catcher/third baseman Lydia Stariha '17 has been named the Midwest Conference Softball Performer of the Week.

Stariha, from LaSalle, Ill. (Saint Bede Academy), began her collegiate career with a sizzling performance, hitting .545 in the team's seven-game spring break trip to Arizona.

She was 12-of-22 at the plate, stole a pair of bases and had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

The MWC Pitcher of the Week is Kara Vance of Lawrence University.
