All-MWC Men's Basketball Release

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's men's basketball team placed two players on the 2025 All-Midwest Conference first team released today.

Kai Te Huki '27 repeated as a first-teamer, while Gabe Garcia '27 jumped from being on the second team last year to the elite squad in 2025. It's the first time since 2007 that Grinnell has had two first-team selections, with current coach David Arseneault Jr. and John Grotberg doing so that year.

Te Huki is Grinnell's first repeat elite-teamer since Vinny Curta earned the honor from 2017 through 2019. He leads the MWC in scoring (21.3 points per game) and 3-pointers per game (3.8), the latter a category in which he ranks fourth nationally. Te Huki is also third in the MWC in 3-point percentage (32.4 percent) and eighth in free throw percentage (43.5 percent).

Garcia is third in the MWC in scoring (19.6 points per game) and free throw percentage (78.9 percent), seventh in field goal percentage (43.6 percent) and ninth in assists (2.7 per game). He also ranks eighth nationally in free throws made with 142.
