Grinnell College’s Adam Dalton ’16, from Mason City, Iowa (Newman), has been named the Midwest Conference Men’s Cross Country Performer of the Week.
Dalton helped guide the Pioneers to a win over a nationally-ranked team at the Les Duke Invitational Saturday. Grinnell finished second in the 13-team meet with 82 points, beating Carleton College – ranked 26th in the nation and fourth in the Central Region - by two points.
Dalton raced to a sixth-place finish in the 181-runner field, touring the 8-kilometer course in 26:06. That time is tops in the league this season, 21 seconds faster than the second-best time.
