Alissa Hirsh ’16, a 5-5 guard from Skokie, Ill. (Niles North), played a big role in two Pioneer contests last week. She had a solid all-round performance in an overtime loss at Monmouth College, coming up with game-highs of 25 points, seven assists and three steals while also grabbing six rebounds. She followed that up with another stellar performance as Grinnell beat the league’s second-place team, Carroll University, 66-62. She had team-highs of 15 points and four assists as Grinnell snapped a five-game losing streak to Carroll while beating that opponent for just the second time in the last 18 meetings.
