Grinnell College’s Ian Dixon-Anderson ’17 has been named the Midwest Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week.
Pioneer athletes swept the honor, as Maddy Pesch ’16 was tabbed the MWC Women’s Performer of the Week.
Dixon-Anderson, from Princeton Junction, N.J. (West Windsor-Plainsboro), helped the Pioneers get their 2015-16 campaign off to a strong start, winning four events and setting a pool record during a pair of duals. He won two races at Luther College, including a pool-record performance in the 200-yard butterfly with a clocking of 2:03.30. He also won the 1000 freestyle in 10:09.45.
A day earlier, in a dual with Coe College, Dixon-Anderson won the 100 butterfly and 500 freestyle in times of 55.36 and 4:53.90, respectively. Additionally, Dixon-Anderson was part of a runner-up 200 freestyle relay team against Coe and took third in the 200 backstroke in the Luther meet. His efforts helped Grinnell win both meets.
