For the second time this season, Grinnell College’s Beth Tsuha ‘17 has been named the Midwest Conference Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week.
The Pioneers swept the award, as Ian Dixon-Anderson ’17 was tabbed the Men’s Performer of the Week.
Tsuha, from Kurtistown, Hawaii (Hilo), played a big hand in Grinnell winning its own Pioneer Classic over the weekend by tasting victory a half-dozen times. She swept the individual freestyle events, winning the 100-yard (54.80), 200 (1:59.13), 500 (5:17.22) and 1650 (18:14.43). Tsuha was also part of the first-place 400 medley relay team that finished in 4:06.11 and 800 freestyle squad that swam 8:13.21.
In addition to that, she swam of three relays that finished second – the 200 freestyle (1:41.76), 200 medley (1:53.99) and 400 freestyle (3:43.98). Grinnell scored 1,385 points to win the team title by more than 150.
