Grinnell College Athletics

Grinnell College’s Margaret Giles ’18, a 5-11 setter from Charlottesville, Va. (Saint Anne’s-Belfield), has been named the Midwest Conference Volleyball Defensive Performer of the Week. Giles had a solid all-around performance while propelling Grinnell into the MWC Tournament for the first time since 2011. In wins over Knox College and Monmouth College, her defensive prowess was evident as she had five solo blocks and one assist. Giles also dished out 11.1 assists per set as the Pioneers won for the fifth time in their last six outings.
