For the third time this season, Grinnell College’s Beth Tsuha ’17, from Kurtistown, Hawaii (Hilo), has been named the Midwest Conference Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week.
Tsuha had a busy weekend while lifting Grinnell to the team title at its own Pioneer Classic. Included in her efforts was a meet-record performance in the 100-yard individual medley, where her clocking of 1:03.62 broke the previous meet best set in 2015.
Tsuha also won five other events, including individual victories in the 200 and 500 freestyles in 1:59.72 and 5:21.40, respectively. Additionally, Tsuha swam on three first-place relays – 200 medley (1:54.80), 400 medley (4:09.64) and 800 freestyle (8:18.22).
Grinnell beat runner-up Carroll for the team title by more than 600 points.
The Pioneers swept the league honor this week, as Houfu Yan ’20 was named the MWC Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week.
