For the second time this season, Grinnell College’s Kayla Morrissey ’18 has been named the Midwest Conference Women’s Basketball Performer of the Week.
Morrissey, a 5-10 forward from Burr Ridge, Ill. (Lyons Township North), helped Grinnell earn a repeat trip to the MWC Tournament by averaging a double-double in two wins with 19 points and 10.5 rebounds a game.
She erupted for 26 points and 11 rebounds as the Pioneers defeated Knox 59-53 and followed with 12 points and 10 boards in a 60-50 decision over Illinois College. Grinnell finished MWC play with 12 wins, which ties a program high.
Morrissey leads the league in scoring, is second in free throw percentage, third in field goal percentage and sixth in rebounding and blocked shots.
