Grinnell College football player Hassan Thompson '19 had a huge game Saturday, and is today is being recognized on a national level.
Thompson, a 6-3, 235-pound linebacker from New Orleans, La. (SCI Academy), has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week at a special teams position.
Thompson blocked a Trinity Bible College punt out of the back of the end zone on Saturday to put Grinnell on the board with a safety, and then the Pioneers marched down the field for the go-ahead touchdown in a 15-6 victory.
That win snapped Grinnell's 11-game losing streak, dating back to 2015, and avenged last season's loss to the Lions.
