Grinnell College’s Lauren Edwards ’20 has been named the Midwest Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Performer of the Week.
Edwards, a defender from Lincoln, Calif. (Lincoln) and an All-MWC performer last season, played a key role in the Pioneers picking up two wins during the week and allowing just one goal in that span.
Grinnell stepped out of league play and defeated Nebraska Wesleyan University 2-1, and then shut down Ripon College 1-0 in a contest where Edwards assisted the lone goal in the second minute of play. The Pioneers, who have won three games in a row, now have four shutouts this season.
