Sabrina Tang's '23 first week of her collegiate tennis career has been eventful, to say the least.
On Saturday, the first-year Grinnell College player claimed the No. 1 singles title at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Tournament. And now, a few days later, she has been named 2019's first Midwest Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
Tang, from Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. (Stevens Point Area), propelled the Pioneers to a runner-up team finish at the tournament with her No. 1 singles crown. Tang, the second seed, posted wins of 6-0, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-1 in the first two rounds before breezing past a player from Augustana College 6-2, 6-0 for the title.
