Tolu Alabi ’13, a 5-9 guard from Garki, Abuja, Nigeria (Model Secondary School), had a pair of big performances for the Grinnell College women’s basketball team over the past week. She scored a team-high 12 points, grabbed seven rebounds and came up with three steals as the Pioneers trailed nationally-ranked Cornell College by just four points at halftime before falling 66-45. Three days later, Alabi recorded a double-double with a game-high 16 points and 10 rebounds to help the Pioneers roll past Lawrence University 60-38 after leading 30-7 at halftime. Alabi also had three steals in that game. For the season, Alabi ranks among the top 10 in the MWC in scoring, rebounds, defensive rebounds and minutes played.
