After a successful weekend in which he claimed five wins, Grinnell College’s Ben Cobin ’20 has been named the Midwest Conference Men’s Tennis Performer of the Week.
Cobin, from St. Louis, Mo. (Ladue Horton Watkins), helped the Pioneers win two of three matches at the highly-competitive University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational. He was a double winner in 6-3 wins over Luther College and Wheaton College. Against Luther, he won 7-6, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and teamed with Michael Conlin-Brandenburg ’21 to win 8-3 at No. 2 doubles. Cobin rallied for a 5-6, 6-3, 10-3 singles victory against Wheaton and he and Conlin-Brandenburg won 8-4 in doubles. In a match with regionally-ranked UW-Whitewater, Cobin and Conlin-Brandenburg won 8-7 in doubles.
Cobin now ranks 11th in Pioneer history for both career singles and doubles wins with 67 and 73, respectively.
