The awards keep pouring in for Grinnell College baseball player
Brock Weirather '21.
Weirather, who earlier this week was named both Midwest Conference and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Pitcher of the Week, has since been named D3baseball.com Pitcher of the Week while securing a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.
Weirather, from Polk City, Fla. (All Saints Academy), fired a perfect game against Knox College Sunday. The gem was just the third perfect game at the NCAA Division III level this season, and 18th since 2007. He needed just 83 pitches to complete the 13-0, seven-inning victory. He struck out 14 batters, the fifth-highest total in Grinnell history, and the perfect game was just the second ever at Grinnell.
Weirather helped himself at the plate, too, as Grinnell won all four games against Knox. He hit .563 in that span, going 9-of-16 with a homer, triple, double, eight RBIs, seven runs scored and .938 slugging percentage.
