Grinnell College's Caleb Hoereth '24, a defender from Flossmoor, Ill. (Homewood-Flossmoor), has been named 2022's first Midwest Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Performer of the Week.

Hoereth's ability to win every 1v1 encounter in the Pioneers' first two games has been a huge spark to the team. His efforts allowed Coe College to just manage two shots in the season opener. Grinnell also held an unbeaten Elmhurst team to just nine shots, with only three on goal, in the Pioneers' 1-0 setback.
