Alyssa Bean ’16 hit an even .400 over the weekend as Grinnell picked up its first victory of the season and snapped a 36-game MWC losing streak that dated back to 2010 with a 2-1 victory over Monmouth College. Bean went 4-of-10 at the plate in four games with two RBIs, two runs scores, a stolen base and a .700 slugging percentage. In a loss to division leader Lake Forest College, a contest Grinnell led most of the way, Bean belted a two-run homer that was just the Pioneers’ second round-tripper of the year. She also pitched two games and had a 3.11 ERA in that span.
