Michael Brus ’14, from Davenport, Iowa (North), guided Grinnell to the team title at its own Pioneer Classic over the weekend by winning five events.
He claimed individual victories in the 200- and 500-yard freestyles with times of 1:46.14 and 4:46.17, respectively, while claiming top honors in the 200 backstroke – the event in which he owns an NCAA Division III title and national record - with a clocking of 1:56.86. Brus has the top times in the MWC in all three events.
Additionally, he also helped the 400 and 800 freestyle relay teams to victory with times of 3:13.43 and 7:08.56, respectively.
