Niko Takayesu ’17, a 5-7, 150-pound second baseman from Kailua, Hawaii (Punahou School), hit a sizzling .357 over four games against Monmouth College. He was 5-of-14 from the plate with a double, four RBI and five runs scored. He went 2-for-4 against the Fighting Scots on Thursday as the Pioneers avenged a first-game loss in a doubleheader with a 4-1 victory. Two days later, he went 2-for-4 again as the Pioneers overcame a 7-1 deficit to beat Monmouth 8-7.
