Box Score WAVERLY, Iowa – The Grinnell College women's basketball team fell behind 47-21 at halftime as Wartburg College posted a 90-55 victory in non-conference action Tuesday night.
 
Alissa Hirsh '16 scored 15 points for Grinnell and Kayla Morrissey '18 added 11. Alex Neckopulos '17 grabbed nine rebounds for the Pioneers, who are 0-2, and Sophia Gatton '17 added two steals.

After falling behind 6-0, the Pioneers responded with an 8-2 run as Morrissey made a 3-pointer and Hirsh a layup and a trey to tie things at 8-all. But Wartburg followed with a 12-0 run to pull away.
 
Wartburg improved to 2-0 with the win.
 
The Pioneers open Midwest Conference play Saturday at Beloit College. Game time is 1 p.m.
