GRINNELL, Iowa – The Grinnell College men's soccer team used a late goal to knock off Monmouth College 1-0 Saturday at Springer Field.
Antonio Dimarco scored in the 79th minute on assists by
Francisco Sanchez-Conde and
Ambar Kakkar for the game-winner. On the play, Sanchez-Conde crossed the ball into the box to
Ambar Kakkar, who one-touched a cross to Dimarco.
Dimarco, amidst several Monmouth defenders, received the pass and kicked it into the goal.
Grinnell won the shots battle 9-5, with
Nicholas Brule taking three shots and
Michael Hurley two.
Major May posted the shutout at keeper and tallied two saves.
Grinnell, 4-2 in the Midwest Conference and 6-6 overall, is at Lawrence University next Saturday.
