ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Grinnell College volleyball team wrapped up the ACM Tournament Sunday with a 3-1 loss to St. Olaf College and 3-0 setback to Macalester College.
The Pioneers lost the opener to St. Olaf 25-13, but then tied the contest with a 25-21 victory. St. Olaf followed with wins of 25-18 and 25-21.
Olivia Fromm '18, who was named to the all-tournament team, pounded down 20 kills and had a .419 hitting efficiency.
Evelyn Weidman '17 added seven kills.
Margaret Giles '18 tallied 36 assists and also had 24 digs.
Sydney Vrecenar '18 came up with 18 digs.
Emily Friedman '19, Fromm and
Jennifer Joy '16 each served two aces.
Earlier in the day, Grinnell lost 25-22, 25-16 and 27-25 to Macalester.
Ariel Lepito '17 had 10 kills and Fromm six. Giles tallied 21 assists, while
Sydney McClendon '16 came up with 16 digs and Fromm 10.
Grinnell, 0-6, entertains Central College Thursday night at Darby Gymnasium.
