INDIANOLA, Iowa - Grinnell College's women's soccer team kicked off its 2016 campaign with a 0-0 double overtime tie with Simpson College on Thursday night.
Polly Carr '19 earned the shutout for the Pioneers, saving five shots.Â
Grinnell outshot the Storm 18-13, with
Simona Bambi '20 and
Valencia Alvarez '20 taking four shots each, and
Nora Sahel '17,
Francesca Varias '18 and
Hannah Truesdale '17 adding two apiece.
Both teams are 0-0-1 on the season. Grinnell plays its home opener Saturday when Augsburg College visits Springer Field. Kickoff is at high noon.
