DE PERE, Wis. – Grinnell College's women's soccer team saw a superb season draw to a close Friday, battling all the way with Knox College before losing 1-0 in the Midwest Conference Tournament semifinals.
The Pioneers, making their 23rd trip to the league tourney and 16th appearance in the last 19 years, finished their campaign with a 10-8 mark. This is the highest win total for Grinnell since the 2014 season.
After giving up a goal in the 10th minute, the Pioneers shut down the league co-champs the rest of the way.
Regan Kasprak '19 had a strong effort at keeper for Grinnell, making 10 saves on the day. Grinnell had four shots, with
Jordan Maddaus '19 taking two and
Lauren Hurley '18 and
Gwen Holtzman '19 one apiece.
Kasprak now has 143 saves in her career, which ranks seventh in Pioneer history. Grinnell also finished the season with 82 saves, which ranks seventh-best for a year.
Knox advances with a 13-5-2 mark.
