GRINNELL, Iowa – Playing between the rain and lightning, the Grinnell College men's soccer team managed to get its contest in against Simpson College which resulted in a 4-0 win for the Storm Tuesday at Springer Field.
The teams played for eight scoreless minutes before a 45-minute lightning delay. When action resumed, the Storm tallied two minutes later and took a 1-0 lead into halftime. Both teams managed several shots in the first half, including Grinnell with five.
The Storm added goals in the 53rd, 55th and 86th minutes to secure the win and improve to 4-2-1. Grinnell, 3-3, got 10 shots in the game including a pair by
Jasper Yang '21. Both of those were on goal. Others getting shots on goal were

Noah Fluharty '19,
Az Fuller '22 and
Caleb Ritter '21.
Jared Cloutier '20 recorded three saves at keeper. He has now played 28 games at keeper for Grinnell, tied for 10th-most in program history, and his 78 career saves also rank 10th. Grinnell opens Midwest Conference play Saturday at Beloit College. Kickoff is at 11 a.m.
