GRINNELL, Iowa - The Grinnell College Sports Information Office is taking this brief hiatus in athletic action to update its record books.
Previously, record books were posted in various formats and degrees; now, all are taking on a more identical look.
The new football record book is ready and posted in the sport header, as well asÂ
here. It provides a complete one-stop shop for anything GC football.
This is a fun study, to be sure, given Grinnell's football history goes back to 1889 with the first football game played west of the Mississippi River (a 24-0 blanking of the University of Iowa!). For sure check out the Pioneers' season-by-season results - the link can be found on the 48th and final page. A little-known fact is the school record for points in a game came in 1892, when Grinnell thrashed the Des Moines YMCA 132-0.
As with all record books, please email
Ted Schultz at schultzt@grinnell.edu.to report any errors or omissions.
Enjoy!
