GALESBURG, Ill. - A five-minute span at the end of the first half and another at the start of the second was the only difference between the Grinnell College women's soccer team and Knox College in the latter's 2-0 victory Tuesday.
The teams played to a scoreless draw through the first 40 minutes before Knox got a goal. The Prairie Fire (3-6, 1-0 Midwest Conference) added an insurance goal less than five minutes into the second stanza and made that stick.
Alyssa Radakovich '22 had two shots, and both on goal, for the Pioneers (2-7, 1-1 MWC).
Madeleine Dellinger '22 and
Tessa Leahy '25 also had shots on goal, while
Francesca Dalla Betta '22 also recorded a shot.
Grinnell keepers
Hannah Malicky '22 and
Elinor Arneson '23 shared duties, each playing a half. Malicky had two saves and Arneson five.
Grinnell steps out of MWC play Sunday when Wartburg College visits Springer Field for a 3 p.m. test.
