GC women's soccer team remains on hot streak with 2-0 shutout against Marian

FOND du LAC, Wis. - Grinnell College's women's soccer team remained on its hot streak Sunday, winning for the sixth time in its last seven outings with a 2-0 shutout at Marian University.

During that streak, Grinnell (9-2-4) has outscored its foes 12-4.

Grinnell got both its goals in the first half of Sunday's win. Ramona Delborne '26 scored the first goal of her collegiate career in the 31st minute, taking a throw-in from Bethany McKinney '26 and firing from the right side of the box into the inside of the near post. It was McKinney's first assist of the year.

Allison Wehrman '24 added her first goal of the season 10 minutes later, squeezing a shot through the keeper's arms from the right side of the box to make it 2-0. It was the second goal of Wehrman's career.

Grinnell keeper Elinor Arneson '23 made five saves while posting her sixth shutout of the season.

Marian (7-7-3) won the shots battle 16-8. Jane March '24, Giada Bambi '25 and Wehrman each had two shots for Grinnell, while Beya VanRheenan '26 and Delborne had one apiece.
