Grinnell women's soccer team rallies for victory at Ripon

RIPON, Wis. - Grinnell College's women's soccer team extended its lengthy winning streak against Ripon College Saturday afternoon, coming from behind to post a 2-1 victory.

Grinnell, which won for the eighth time in a row against the Red Hawks, scored two goals in the second half after falling behind 1-0 at halftime.

The Pioneers tied the contest in the 59th minute on Reese Komsthoeft's '25 close-range goal, her second of the year and sixth in her career. Grinnell took the lead for good six minutes later when Ramona Delborne '26 scored her first goal of the season. Delborne's score, which was the sixth in her career, was assisted by Reese Komsthoeft '25.

Grinnell dominated offensively, outshooting the Red Hawks 14-5 while holding a 7-3 edge in corners. Katie Carson '25 had five of Grinnell's shots, Komsthoeft took three and Maya Mozena '28 added two. Credited with one shot each were Delborne, Giada Bambi '25, Zoe Kunzman '28 and Rama Joshi '27.

Grinnell keeper Peyton Dixon '27 posted one save as the Pioneers improved to 2-1 in the Midwest Conference and 5-3-1 overall. Ripon dipped to 0-2-1 in the league and 2-7-3 in all games.

The Pioneers jump out of conference Sunday, playing Edgewood College in Madison, Wis. Kickoff is 2 p.m.
