Grinnell women collect 3 victories in dual meet with Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Grinnell College women's swimmers claimed three event titles in the team's dual meet with Augustana College Saturday afternoon.

Champs were Sarah Lopez '26 in the 200-yard individual medley (2 minutes, 18.57 seconds), Molly Ryan '27 in the 100 backstroke (1:01.29) and Bella Takata '28 in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.90).

Individual runners-up for Grinnell were Sophia Carroll '25 in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle (2:01.23 and 5:32.39), Camryn Gonzales '25 in the 100 butterfly (1:01.92).

Grinnell was second in all three relays - the 200 medley with Lopez, Takata, Gonzales and Aliya Swearngin '25 (1:53.75), 200 freestyle with Swearngin, Lopez, Samantha Cook '27 and Carroll (1:44.91) and 400 freestyle with Gonzales, Cook, Ryan and Carroll (3:47.97).

Augustana won the meet by a 99-84 score.

Grinnell is off until the first weekend of December when they host the Pioneer Classic.
