Grinnell women's team crowns 6 champs in swimming and diving triangular

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's women's swimming and diving team claimed six event titles at a triangular meet with Luther College and Simpson College Saturday afternoon.
 
Collecting two victories apiece at Russell K. Osgood Pool were Camryn Gonzales '25, Molly Ryan '27 and Bella Takata '28. Gonzales was first in the 100-yard butterfly in 1 minute, 1.74 seconds and also joined Ryan, Takata and Sophia Carroll '25 in a 400 medley relay victory with a time of 4:06.78.

 
Ryan added a victory in the 100 backstroke in 1:01.21 and Takata took first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.01, the 17th-best time in program history. Other champs were Sarah Lopez '26 in the 200 butterfly (2:13.66) and Joely Kam '28 in the 200 breaststroke (2:34.40).

 
Individual runners-up for Grinnell were Kam in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.32), Ryan in the 200 backstroke (2:12.69), Takata in the 200 breaststroke (2:34.66) and Josephine Hopkins '28 in the 1000 freestyle (11:37.55).

 
Grinnell was second in the team standings with 129 points. Luther won with 165.
