GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's women's tennis team picked up Saturday where it left off last fall – victorious.
The Pioneers opened their spring campaign against Ottawa University of Kansas, posting a 6-3 win at the Bear Center Field House.
Doubles paved the way for Grinnell, as all three Pioneer duos won.
Ioanna Giannakou '24 and
Lily Perrin '25 earned an 8-4 decision at No. 1,
Irene Agusti '24 teamed with
Erin Jarvis '25 to win 8-5 at the second slot and
Paige Sargent '27 and
Alyssa Trapp '26 won 8-2 at No. 3.
Singles winners were Perrin at No. 3 (6-1, 6-3), Jarvis at No. 4 (6-4, 6-3) and
Nehir Ergun '26 at No. 6 (6-3, 6-3).
Grinnell, 7-0, will be at Macalester College on Sunday.
