Grinnell men's tennis team steamrolls past Macalester

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The nationally-ranked Grinnell College's men's tennis team flexed its collective muscle Sunday, rolling over Macalester College 8-1 in non-conference action.

The Pioneers boasted double winners in Lucas Willett '26 and Sam Rudenberg '25. Willett won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and teamed with Karch Knoll '25 to win 8-5 at the top doubles spot.

Rudenberg posted a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles and paired with Aiden Klass '25 to win 8-0 at No. 2 doubles. Grinnell's other doubles team, the No. 3 unit of Leo Esztergomi '24 and Jacob Young '27, won 8-3.

Rounding out the list of singles winners for the No. 36 Pioneers were Wilder Cooke '26 at No. 1 (7-5, 6-2), Albert Bostoen '26 at No. 4 (7-5, 6-2) and Anshul Satav '27 at No. 5 (6-2, 6-2).

Grinnell, 6-2, plays at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire next Saturday.
