HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Grinnell College's men's tennis team rolled up its ninth consecutive victory Thursday, toppling Carleton College by a 7-2 score and Western New England University 9-0.
The 14-2 Pioneers shot out to a 3-0 lead through doubles with victories by the duos of Aiden Klass '25-Lucas Willett '26 (8-7), Henry Bridgers '24-Sam Rudenberg '25 (8-1) and Leo Esztergomi '24-Wilder Cooke '25 (8-6).
Grinnell rounded things out with four wins in singles, those coming from Cooke at No. 1 (6-2, 6-1), Rudenberg at No. 4 (6-3, 1-6, 1-0), Klass at No. 5 (6-3, 6-4) and Albert Bostoen '26 at No. 6 (4-6, 6-3, 1-0).
In the win over Western New England, singles winners were Cooke (6-1, 6-1),
Jacob Young '27 (6-0, 6-1), Bridgers (6-1, 6-0),
Anshul Satav '27 (6-0, 6-0), Luka Shaier '25-Check (6-1, 6-0) and
Charles Yung '24 (6-0, 6-0). Doubles winners were the duos of Klass-Willett (8-2), Bridgers-Rudenberg (8-3) and Shaker-Check-Cooke (8-0).
Grinnell meets the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Oberlin College on Monday.
