GRINNELL, Iowa – The Grinnell College men's tennis team stretched its winning streak against Central College to 16 matches Saturday afternoon, blanking the Dutch 9-0 at the Bear Center Field House.
Winning two matches each for the 36
th-ranked Pioneers were
Wilder Cooke '25,
Lucas Willett '26,
Sam Rudenberg '25
Aiden Klass '25 and
Albert Bostoen '26.
Cooke won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and teamed with Bostoen for an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles. Willett won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and grabbed an 8-1 victory with Klass at No. 1 doubles.
Rudenberg and
Henry Bridgers '25 won 8-5 at No. 2 doubles, while Rudenberg also earned a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles. Klass won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 singles and Bostoen posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 5. Rounding out the list of winners was
Jacob Young '27, who was victorious 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
Grinnell will take a 9-2 mark into next Friday's match against Carthage College in Sterling, Ill.
