Grinnell men's tennis team runs Midwest Conference championship streak to 20

RIPON, Wis. - Grinnell College's men's tennis team coasted to its 20th Midwest Conference title in a row Saturday with 9-0 victories over Lawrence University and Ripon College.

Grinnell, which has won 26 MWC crowns overall, ran its winning streak against league foes to 186 matches dating back to 2002-03 while posting shutouts in 31 of its last 36 against MWC teams.

Singles winners, in order, against Lawrence were Albert Bostoen '26 (3-6, 6-0, 11-9), Jacob Young '27 (6-0, 6-1), Anshul Satav '27 (6-2, 6-1), Charles Yung '24 (6-0, 6-1), Spencer Skidmore '24 (6-2, 6-0) and Keegan McLaughlin '27 (6-0, 6-0). Doubles winners were the teams of Bostoen-Luka Shaker-Check '25 (8-7), Young-Satav (8-0) and Yung-Skidmore (8-7).

In the Ripon victory, Grinnell's singles winners were Young (6-1, 6-0), Satav (6-0, 6-0), Yung (6-0, 6-0), Skidmore (6-0, 6-0), McLaughlin (6-2, 6-0) and William Chhim '25 (6-1, 6-0). Doubles winners were the duos of Shaker-Check-Young (8-2), Bostoen-Satav (8-0) and Skidmore-Yung (8-0).

The 34th-ranked Pioneers, who finished MWC play at 6-0 while improving to 21-3 overall, close out the regular season at home Sunday against Coe College.
