Grinnell's incredible tennis season comes to an end in 2nd round of NCAA D-III Tourney

WHITEWATER, Wis. - Grinnell College's men's tennis team wrapped up another incredible season Saturday by losing to 11th-ranked Denison University 5-0 in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

The 32nd-ranked Pioneers put up good fights in doubles despite losing the matches. Aiden Klass '25 and Lucas Willett '26 fell 8-2 to the No. 15 duo in the nation, Sam Rudenberg '25 and Karch Knoll '25 lost 8-3 and Henry Bridgers '24 and Wilder Cooke '25 lost 8-3.

In singles, Denison posted wins at No. 2, 4 and 5 to secure the team victory. Rudenberg battled his nationally-ranked foe to a 7-6 first-set decision before Denison clinched.

Grinnell reached the 25-win plateau for only the sixth time in program history while finishing at 25-4. The Pioneers were playing in their 17th consecutive NCAA Tourney after advancing by winning the MWC Team Tournament. Against league foes, Grinnell has a 186-match winning streak dating back to the 2002-03 season.

Denison advances with a 20-4 record.
